Lumin House: Urban Roof Garden in a Premium Residential Complex

Minimalist outdoor furniture complements the calm, clean architecture and landscaping of this luxury residential building
Year: 2023
Project: rooftop terrace at Lumin House
Design: tamed.form
Products: S Lounge, Sofa S1, Cylinder 45, Cylinder 90, Pouf Angle
The architecture of Lumin House is defined by its glass façade and minimalist interior, where the play of light and shadow shapes the mood.
The secluded rooftop terrace was envisioned as a retreat offering residents both exclusivity and an oasis of calm and quiet above the cityscape.
It was designed to function as an evergreen garden, a social hub and a quiet place of rest—an extension of the building's architectural identity that matches its sophisticated appearance.
“We needed furniture that would quietly support the architecture and landscape – not dominate the space, but elevate it,”
— Maria Ashkova, landscape architect and founder of tamed.form studio
The choice of furniture brings three core qualities to the project:
✔ Minimalist geometry that echoes the architecture
✔ Neutral finishes that blend seamlessly with glass and concrete
✔ Resistance to weather changes
Plants planted in concrete pots support the structure of the furniture, which is designed to last for years. Seamless, weather-resistant coatings ensure that the space remains usable from spring until late autumn, and perhaps even into early European winter.
Maintenance is minimal, even in white, which can often be quite challenging outdoors. The surface is waterproof and washable.
Unlike many of our projects, where the furniture takes center stage, we welcome cases where the opposite happens – and the furniture quietly but confidently supports the space – exactly as intended in this project.
